As Paul encourages us in Romans 12:1 we are to “offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – that is to be our spiritual act of worship”. Similarly we are instructed in Ephesians to “live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” (Ephesians 5:2). ‘True fasting’ is our directed goal in Isaiah 58 and in Amos God tells us to “do away with the noise of our songs and let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream”! (Amos 5:23-24). Clearly God is serious about his people living out lives of worship.
